Frequently asked questions

  1. What all do I need to do to get a decal for my car/boat/golf cart/kayak.
For car decals, you must provide a tag number and the cost is $10. For boat decals, you must provide proof of registration and insurance in the PROPERTY OWNER'S NAME and the cost is $20.
  2. When is garbage pickup for our neighborhood?
Garbage pickup for Lake Serene is Tuesdays. Please do not place anything curbside that is not allowed by Lamar County. Lamar county does run a yard debris pick up as well for limbs and other small yard debris. They will not pick up debris that has been removed by a contractor.
  3. Do I have to rent the small gazebos at the ski launch area?
No, those are first-come, first-serve. The only area that you must reserve is the large pavilion on Balboa Drive and the Lake Serene Clubhouse.
  1. How much are the annual dues?
$560 as of 2017. Dues are subject to increase. After February 2, a late fee of $25 is assessed. After May 1, another late fee of $50 is assessed. Unpaid dues/assessments are subject to a lien being placed on the property.
  2. Does Lake Serene have a leash law?
Lake Serene does not have a leash law, but it is encouraged for you to keep your dogs protected by fence or leash. Many homeowners enjoy walking/jogging through the neighborhood. Also we request that on garbage day, you keep your dogs restricted from going through the neighborhood tearing out the trash.
  3. Can my friend/family member bring his boat for the weekend?
The only boats allowed in Lake Serene are those registered and insured by the property owner/member. No guest boats are allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS.
